Annual Outhwaite Golf Trophy 10th July 2021

For those that would like to play golf, and for those that think they can play…..

The Outhwaite Trophy is so named after Jason Outhwaite and his son Peter. Both long and loyal members of Royal Navy Lodge and both now sadly passed.

Whilst neither had any great affiliation to the game of golf (and if you read the flyer – you’ll see the golf is not something taken terribly seriously), we decided to commemorate their service to our lodge and thus the Outhwaite Trophy was conceived.

This year’s date will be Saturday July 10th starting at 3:00pm in the afternoon. The format will be 18 holes on the short par 3 course at North Foreland Golf Club followed by a three course meal in the Lighthouse Brasserie at the club.

The golf (such as it is) is aimed at golfers and non-golfers alike. A handicap system is in place, but the day is all about having a bit of fun and not taking yourself too seriously.

There is no obligation to do both the golf and meal. If you wish to golf but not eat – then that’s fine, and if you wish to dine but would prefer to avoid the bunkers – then that’s equally fine.

Both the golf and meal are open to Masons and Guests alike (Separate trophy for the guests) and everyone will be made to feel most welcome

There is more than adequate time between golf and food to go home, get changed, collect the other half (if she’s not golfing) and return for a pre-dinner drink.

The proceeds will be donated to the 2025 Festival and the Cornwallis East Kent Freemasons Charity.
