Peter Rodd Celebrates 50 Years in Freemasonry

Members and guests recently gathered to celebrate a remarkable milestone in the Masonic journey of Worshipful Brother Peter Rodd, who has completed fifty years of dedicated service to Freemasonry.

Peter’s Masonic career began when he was initiated into the Old Ruymian Lodge, marking the start of a lifelong commitment to the principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth. From the very beginning, he demonstrated a keen interest in the traditions and ceremonies of the Craft.

An interesting chapter in Peter’s early life was his decision to join the Royal Navy lodge. While he was keen to work with his mother lodge, he was also keen to practice his ritual and so attended the lodge of Instruction evenings at Royal navy lodge whose standards where well known to be of the highest quality.

During his Masonic career, Peter has been a driving force in the Province of East Kent with the pinnacle of his career being promoted to Assistant provincial Grand Master for the Province where he served five years.

Over the course of five decades Peter has witnessed many changes within Freemasonry while remaining steadfast in his commitment to its values. He has supported countless candidates on their own Masonic journeys, shared his knowledge generously, and earned the respect and friendship of Brethren throughout the Province and beyond.  Today, Peter serves as Trustee for the Cornwallis, East Kent Freemasons Charity

Those who know Peter speak warmly of his dedication, sense of humour, and willingness to help others. His enthusiasm for ritual and his commitment to maintaining high standards have left a lasting impression on the Lodges with which he has been associated.

The celebration of Peter’s fifty years in Freemasonry was celebrated by the visit of the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, VWBro Philip South who gave a heartfelt speech not only as a recognition of longevity but also a tribute to a lifetime of service, fellowship, and devotion to the Craft. It provided an opportunity for Brethren to reflect on his many contributions and to express their gratitude for his example and guidance.

The evening of celebration was marked with a festive board full members of his lodges along with numerous lifelong friends and associates

As Peter reaches this significant milestone, we congratulate him on fifty years of faithful and distinguished service and thank him for the friendship, wisdom, and inspiration he has shared with so many. We wish him continued health, happiness, and many more years of enjoyment within Freemasonry.

Congratulations, Brother Peter Rodd, on your Golden Jubilee in the Craft.
