Royal Navy Lodge Presents £235 Donation to Riding for the Disabled Centre

Royal Navy Lodge is delighted to have presented a cheque for £235 to the Thanet Disabled Riding Centre in Broadstairs, supporting the invaluable work the charity carries out for disabled people across the local community.

The funds were raised during the Lodge’s popular Mr & Mrs Night, an evening filled with fun, laughter and friendly competition. The event was hosted by Senior Warden Johan Erasmus and Charity Steward John Mills, whose enthusiasm and hard work helped make the evening such a success.

The Thanet Disabled Riding Centre has been serving the community for almost 50 years and, with the support of a dedicated team of volunteers, provides therapeutic horse riding opportunities for around 40 riders each week. The Centre offers disabled children and adults the chance to improve their confidence, balance, coordination and independence through equine-assisted activities, while also creating a welcoming environment where participants can develop friendships and enjoy the many physical and mental wellbeing benefits of working with horses. As an independent charity, it relies heavily on donations and community fundraising to continue its life-changing work.

Speaking after the presentation, Senior Warden Johan Erasmus said:

“Our Mr & Mrs Night was a wonderful evening that brought everyone together for a lot of laughter while raising money for a truly deserving local charity. We are proud to support the Thanet Disabled Riding Centre and the incredible difference it makes to the lives of so many people. On behalf of Royal Navy Lodge, I would like to thank everyone who attended and contributed so generously. We hope this donation will help the Centre continue its outstanding work for many years to come.”

Royal Navy Lodge remains committed to supporting local charities and organisations that make a genuine difference within the community. The Lodge extends its sincere thanks to everyone who attended and supported the Mr & Mrs Night, making this donation possible, and looks forward to continuing its charitable fundraising throughout the year.
